Here you’ll find dramatic landscapes with deep rift valleys and scree slopes, flowing water and lush broadleaf forests, some primeval. The National Park, which has one of the biggest uninterrupted expanses of deciduous forest in northern Europe, is extremely rich in flora and fauna. The Kopparhatten plateau at 90 metres offers magnificent views.
The southern entry point is by the tourist office in Röstånga by Nackarpsdalen valley. This is also where you’ll find the remarkable Odensjön lake, the subject of many myths and well worth a visit.
The main entrance is at Skäralid, by the impressive Skäralid ravine. There is an exhibition on the national park at Naturum Söderåsen visitor centre.
